McLean brothers busts, 2013
Cast Bronze Figure
750mm high x 450mm wide
Blackall, Australia
Two lifesize bronze busts of the brothers Lex and Gordon McLean, local identities and major contributors for the McLean Place retirement village. These brothers who lived in the Blackall area their entire lives are to be commemorated, not as the elderly gentlemen they grew to be, but as the young virile and attractive men who had such success farming this land. They will be a little ruffled and wild looking, like the outback guys they were.
Their permanent presence as young men, amongst the elderly residents of the McLean Place will bring a sense of joy and fond memories, as well as the story of continuing history and generations. These bronze sculptures may be kept outside in the garden.
