Newspapers capture and record, in a unique format, a certain period of Australian culture. This sculpture evokes a quickly fading time in history when newspapers shouted headlines that galvanized the suburb and identified an area. Bundles of newspapers were delivered in the early hours and distributed to eager hands through newsagents, milk bars and paperboys.
This nostalgic sculpture serves as a marker for changing technology, as a dominant form of news reporting falls to a digital revolution.
